About Myanmar
Due to a large number of golden pagodas all over the country, Myanmar is well known as the Golden Land by many foreign countries. The Republic of the Union of Myanmar, which has a total area of (262,000 sq m) is the largest country in the mainland Southeast Asia. The majority of people in Myanmar (i.e more than 80 %) believe in Buddhism, but other religions, such as Christian, Islam and Hinduism etc., are practiced largely without obstruction. Burma language is the official language within Myanmar.

According to Myanmar chronicles, there were 55 kings who ruled Bagan. The times of Bagan probably began from 108 AD and raise its power to its zenith in 1044 AD to 1369 AD. During the time of its Zenith, Buddhist religion had been introduced and prevailed in Bagan and spread throughout the city states of Myanmar. Many monuments and shrines are studded in the vast plain, saying goes as of five millions of Pagodas in Bagan. The most famous buildings and shrines with fine Architectural designs, left today are Ananda Temple, Thabinnyu Temple, Dhamayangyi Temple, Gawdawpalin Temple, Shwezigon Temple, Sulamuni Temple, Dhamayazaka Temple and Htilo Minlo Temple, Nan Phaya and Manuha.
